ICESS AVHRR Ground Station

ICESS operates a SeaSpace TeraScan ground station that automatically receives and processes HRPT telemetry from the AVHRR sensors on board the NOAA polar-orbiting satellites.

We've programmed the TeraScan system to acquire AVHRR imagery transmitted by the NOAA-12 and NOAA-16 satellites. The imagery is then processed into two standard products (sea surface temperature and near-infrared albedo) for two standard regions (southern California and southwestern U.S.)
